Meet The Team

Brandi is one of the Co-Founders of Backroads and Burgers. She serves as a Writer, Photographer, Social Media Director, and Analytics Expert. Brandi graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2003 with degrees in English and History and a minor in Political Science. In addition to teaching and coaching softball, Brandi is awesome an award-winning author with four published novels under her belt and a fifth expected to be released this year.

Mark is the other Co-Founder of Backroads and Burgers. He serves as a Writer, Photographer, Community Liaison, and Contract Specialist. Mark is an award-winning photojournalist who has had his work appear in some of the largest papers in the country. He is currently the Managing Editor at The Columbian-Progress where he has been since 2009. An Ohio native, Mark graduated from Kent State University in 1985 with a degree in Photojournalism.

Jeni fills many roles for the Backroads and Burgers team including, Legal Counsel, Director of Marketing Operations, and Purchasing and Receiving Coordinator. Jeni studied Psychology and Sociology at Delta State University before receiving her degree from Hinds Community College in Paralegal Technology. Jeni as worked for Berry Law Firm in Columbia for 8 years as the firm's Paralegal and Office Manager.

Backroads and Burgers started as 4-person team. However, on October 10, 2017, Amelia passed away.

Amelia was married to Mark and served as Backroads and Burgers in the roles of Location Scout Manager and Trip Planning Advisor. She graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi where she received a degree in Business with an emphasis in Tourism Management. Amelia worked for Ashley Homestore in Hattiesburg as a Guest Services Representative at the time of her death.

Even though Amelia is not physically with us, we will always carry her with us on our travels through the memories, laughter, and love she brought to our lives.
