Some of the best shopping experiences and food in the state can be found just steps away from the hotel and a short journey to Delta State University and the Mississippi GRAMMY Museum.
Charming Rooms
The Cotton House has 95 rooms on site and 6 incredible suites. The rooms are outfitted with plush, pillowtop mattresses, a chair with ottoman, a luxurious bathrobe, locally roasted southern coffee in your room, and what might go down as one of your best night sleeps in ages and the comfort you expect from southern hospitality. The suites offer a little more room and include a sitting area and a workspace.
The History of Cotton Row
It is no secret that the Mississippi Delta has some of the richest soil in the south and this ground has cultivated many a crop over the past couple of hundred years. The Cotton House sits right in the middle of where farmers from throughout the Delta would come to sell their crops, hence the nickname Cotton Row. Just steps away from the former railroad tracks that ran through carrying goods throughout the country, Cleveland is proud of its history for being a crossroads for Mississippi, both economically and culturally.
Most of the time when we sit down at a restaurant on the road, we are looking for the best food we can find. But, in Cleveland at the Delta Meat Market you are going to find incredible food and a world-renowned chef. Cole Ellis is the Owner and Executive Chef at Delta Meat Market but that is not where his accolades end. Cole was named a semi-finalist for the James Beard Award “Best Chef in the South,” in 2017 and was listed as #3 in Southern Living’s Best Chefs in the South in 2019. Delta Meat Market has been recognized as much as their owner, being mentioned in Southern Living, Bon Appetit, Delta Magazine, and Garden and Gun. If you are looking for a soul stirring, heart-warming meal, look no further than the Delta Meat Market.
Located on the top floor of the Cotton House Hotel on Cotton Row in Cleveland, Bar Fontaine provides delicious bar food, dessert, and of course some of the best drinks you will find anywhere in the Delta! With the freshest ingredients, an intimate atmosphere, and rooftop views of the city, Bar Fontaine is perfect for any crowd. Plus, you may have a local artist performing while you are there. One of the best atmospheres in Cleveland!

From the second you step into the lobby of the Cotton House, you know you are somewhere special! With high-back chairs and large couches stretched in front of a cozy fireplace, it is hard to ignore the community feeling and that you are among friends. The décor is nothing short of a brilliant combination of culture, art, and hospitality!

Rooftop Experience
When you visit Bar Fontaine on the top floor of the Cotton House, make sure to venture outside and look at Cleveland from that vantage point. There are plenty of chairs and tables to enjoy a nice spring or summer night on the roof. Even though the weather was not the best when we visited, Cleveland is beautiful from this perspective!
