We love to eat, and one thing is for sure, our busy days go a lot better with a strong breakfast! Northeast Tennessee has some of the best food in the country and that is not just reserved for lunch and dinner. Here are our picks for the five best breakfast spots in all of the region. 

Betty’s Stockyard: Built next to a stockyard in Kingsport, Tennessee, Betty’s wanted to serve the buyers and sellers. What she got was so much more. Today, you must be there by 7am to get any chance at a seat. With just over 30 seats surrounding a café-style bar, if you are lucky to find a seat for breakfast, it will be one of the best experiences of your life. One of the most hospitable moments we ever had occurred here as well. The options from Betty’s are endless! From breakfast sandwiches, biscuits and gravy, to pancakes and omelets, Betty’s has something for everyone, even gluten free options for Brandi. As we were leaving, an elderly gentleman was giving away free hot fruit pies out of his backseat just because he wanted to share the love. We all need to try to be more like this amazing guy! If you are going to Betty’s, they are open from 6am to 2pm Tuesday-Saturday, and yes, they apparently have an amazing lunch selection too. Evelyn’s Kitchen Table: Quaint, quiet and amazingly delicious are just a few of the words can think of to describe this Kingsport restaurant. The friendliness from the staff started as soon as we walked in and continued until we paid our bill. Very few busy restaurants can still take the time to make the customer feel like the most important person in the room, but they did just that. Our breakfast was fresh and fast and was one of the best meals we have ever had. Their menu boasts everything from grit and breakfast bowls, platters, waffles, omelets, and sandwiches made your way! They are open daily, 7:30am-3:00pm every day except Sunday when their hours are 10:00am-2:00pm for brunch. They are located at 1141 North Eastman Drive in Kingsport, TN 37664. MeadowView Conference Resort and Convention Center: Not very often have we ever listed a hotel’s breakfast as one of our favorites, but MeadowView Conference Resort was something completely different! The Meadows Restaurant delivers full flavored meals in their beautiful dining room that can also be delivered as room service for a few hours. Whether you want a heavy breakfast to last you throughout the day or just a snack to satisfy a craving, the Meadows offers a little bit of everything. They are located at the MeadowView Conference Resort and Convention Center is located at 1901 Meadowview Parkway in Kingsport, TN. Give them a call today at 1-800-820-5055.

Bloom, located at 606 State Street in Bristol, Tennessee. This woman-owned business prides itself on a strong, highly quality menu and a welcoming and enjoyable experience. Their menu takes a modern approach to some of the most classic dishes you have grown to love. With starters like a brunch board, deviled eggs, and a biscuit plate, you know the rest of the menu will be dynamic. Their plates can range from a quiche of the day to goat cheese and fried egg sandwiches and offers one of Bristol’s most unique breakfast options. While their menu often rotates, you will never have to worry about getting anything but a delicious meal and experience here! Brunch is served Wednesday-Sunday and dinner Thursday-Saturday. Blackbird Bakery: We smelled the delicious scents of Blackbird wafting down the streets of Bristol long before we laid eyes on the beautiful location!  It is known as Bristol, Virginia’s old-fashioned bakery and boy is it ever! With two incredible locations in Bristol, the people there still cannot get enough. Their homemade donuts, divine pastries, and even mouth-melting baklava gives visitors the impression that they have stepped back into a simpler time and place. There is nothing more you can want than a great customer service and delicious bakery items at the Blackbird Bakery. Their drive-thru location is on Commonwealth Avenue and their permanent location is in Historic Downtown Bristol. Downtown is open Monday-Thursday, 7:00am-10:00pm and Friday and Saturday, 7:00am-midnight. The drive-through location is open Tuesday-Saturday, 7:00am-9:00pm.
