After a long day hiking, shopping, or traveling, it is nice to unwind and find a place to have a couple of drinks and relax. Thankfully, Northeast Tennessee has several such locations!

East Coast Wings Located in Kingsport and home to the original Long Island Iced Tea, General Manager Shane Winegar will make sure that you are full on their delicious wings and relaxed with a drink in your hand as long as you are there. This laid-back atmosphere definitely gives you vibes of a neighborhood bar and that must have been why we felt as though we were having dinner with a dozen friends the night we visited!

Lumac Rooftop Bar Located in the Bristol Hotel in Bristol, Virginia, the Lumac Rooftop Bar is the only rooftop bar in Bristol. Arch Digests called the Lumac the “Most Beautifully Designed Bar” in Virginia and it is easy to see why with views of Bristol TN/VA and the stunning Appalachian Mountains. Even if you are just going up for the view, the Lumac has to be a spot you check out next time you are in Northeast Tennessee.

Stateline Bar and Grill Located on the Bristol, TN side of the street, Stateline Bar and Grill has offered cold drinks and hot food since 2002 in one of the most relaxed and laid-back atmospheres we have ever visited. They also cater and the night we visited there was karaoke! Stop in for a visit!

Blue Ridge Comedy Club Until visiting Bristol, we had never visited a comedy club but thanks to the experience we had at the Blue Ridge Comedy Club, we will be searching these out wherever we go! Opened by Boston-based comedian, Shawn Carter after the pandemic, we saw it advertised and commenced to laughing for the next two hours. Even though we did not know a soul there, we were brought in like family and had the time of our lives. Make sure to check their calendar when you’re in the Tri-Cities area and if you are interested in learning how to do comedy, they also offer classes!

Gypsy Circus Cider Located in Kingsport, Gypsy Circus Cider is the South’s most awarded cidery and was the 2016, 2018, and 2019 Tennessee Cider Producer of the Year! In addition to their delicious gluten free ciders, they also produce mead! The locally sourced apples pressed for this cider give it a clean, fresh bite in every sip. Hands down one of the coolest places to get a drink in all Northeast Tennessee.

Elderbrew Located in Bristol, Elderbrew is Tennessee’s first small batch brewery and a really cool place to pull up a seat and have a few beers. Even though their beer menu changes weekly, you can be guaranteed that your drink is high quality and that the brewer prides himself on craftmanship and creativity. The Black Lodge imperial porter is their flagship beer but the Thai Fighter is one of the most unique we have seen. Gathering the flavor profile from Pad Thai, the pale-ale base is paired with toasted coconut, peanut flour, and Thai chilies that make this beverage something you never expected!

The Cascade Draft House Also located on the Tennessee side of Bristol, the Cascade Draft House pulls from 40 different taps a rotation, ensuring that there is something for everyone! Do not worry if beer really is not your thing because with ciders, sours, and seltzers, you can find something to wet your whistle! With regular music and food trucks, you could spend a day with these fun folks!

Paramount Center for the Arts This incredible performing arts venue is housed in Art Deco style and even features a vintage Mighty Wurlitzer organ. For more than 90 years, Paramount Bristol has been a local landmark and cultural anchor for the twin cities and offers events nearly every week! From musicals to national acts, and even symphony performances, whatever your taste is, it will be satisfied at the Paramount.

The Cameo Theatre The stunning Cameo is one of the 15 oldest theaters in Virginia and a landmark icon in the Bristol VA/TN area since it opened in 1925! For many years, the Cameo sat empty and closed with a future of uncertainty. But it is safe to say that the Cameo Theatre is here to stay! Hosting acts like 3 Dog Night, 10,000 Maniacs, and The Bellamy Brothers, Bristol is back on top of the world in terms of music thanks to this incredible lineup!

No matter where you are in Northeast Tennessee, there is plenty of nightlife to choose from!
