The Forgotten Music Festival in Port St. Joe Florida has been bringing local and national acts to the stage since 2018. This year’s event will be October 9-10 and promises to be a special one! Joe and Sara Whitmer had been vacationing on the white beaches and frolicking in the clear Gulf of Mexico waters for more than a decade when they decided that this was the perfect place for the Forgotten Music Festival. Even though it is now one of the most popular music festivals in all of the southeast, it is important to understand this is not Joe’s first dance. He has worked in the entertainment industry for more than 30 years and has produced both national and international events. His career highlights include being the event producer of The International Blues Challenge in Memphis, where 260 acts converge in 21 Beale Street venues for 5 days. He is also the producer of the Blues Music Awards in Memphis, and the show includes over 25 performances. Sara was born in Italy but was introduced to American music from her father. Once in the states, she called Memphis home and started volunteering at music events across the country. Saturday, October 9 kicks off day 1 of the festival and the music lineup will completely blow visitors away. Brett Waters & The Pool Boys will start things off and will be followed by Skyler Saufley & the 99th Degree. The temp will be slowly rising in Port St. Joe when Billy The Kid & The Regulators take the stage before Albert Castiglia closes out the first day of the highly anticipated festival. Sunday starts with the John Sutton Band and then shifts to the Bridget Kelly Band. The David Julia Band will set the stage ablaze for all in attendance before Jose Ramirez closes out the 2021 Forgotten Music Festival. On both days, the gates and will call open at noon before the first musician of the day takes the stage at 1pm. The final act of the day starts at 6pm.
A VIP Pass for both days of the festival will only set you back $40 while a Saturday pass is $15 and a Sunday pass is $10. A weekend pass is only $20. If you have any experience with music festivals, you know these prices are a total steal for this caliber of event. The event will take place at George Core Park, located at 150 Captain Fred’s Place, in Port St. Joe, overlooking St. Joseph Bay. Festival Parking is located on 4th Street, West of Highway 98.
